I have a question about immigration and crimes invloving 'moral turpitude' I find this very confusing. I know that you cannot have more than one conviction of Moral Turpitude, but here is where I am confused:





OK. So what if he/she has ONE conviction, but under that conviction there are TWO Charges? (We are talking petty offences "summary offences" in Canada)



For example:



1 Conviction of fraud, but 2 charges because 2 NSF cheques were deposited into the ATM at ONE time?



1 Conviction of theft, but 2 charges because 2 items were stolen at the same time?



ETC...



How is this considered?

It should be considered one charge from my understanding. If your applying for citizenship just call the 800 number (for CIC in Canada, USCIS in USA) and simply ask but I'm pretty sure they mean individual convictions.
