My central a/c stopped blowing. The outside unit is working but when the unit inside turns on all I get is a humming sound as if it wants to turn on but it does not.

More than likely the motor is defective but I would replace the capacitor first and see if that fixes it. If you are not mechanically inclined you will need help.
