    Composting tomatoes
Are there any special considerations when adding tomatoes and cantalpoes to a compost geap. There seems to be an awfull lot of juice.

I would not think that the juice would present a problem. Wouldn't you have plants sprout from the seeds in the spring esp. the tomatoes? I know I planted tomatoes last year and some plants grew back this spring, even between the cracks of the walkway. I transplanted them to my garden.

The juices won't hurt a thing.

I used to add tomatoes and old tomato plants to my compost, but found they kept sprouting new volunteer plants. If I turned it more often, it might not happen, but I'm finding it's not worth the trouble.
