When I turn my ac on. Sometimes it would give cold air and other times it would give hot air when Ihave the temperature set to the lowest. I did some rough experiements. The times it gives cold air is when the ac fan is running then the fan would stop running and that is when I get hot air. What might be causing my Ac fan to stop running though my Ac is on. It is a 1991 honda accord LX with 190000 miles
Chances are the fan (blower) motor is beginning to seize and will eventually stop altogether.Quote:

There are 2 fans the radiator and the AC fan. Another test I did I notice that the both fans appear to run together. When both fans are on I get the cool air. When both are not. I get the hot air even though the ac is on. So if I start the car and turn the ac on. All I get is the hot air. If I rev the engine up until the temperature rises the radiator fan kicks in along with the ac fan and I will then get the cool air. Eventually after the engine cools down both fans stop and I get hot air.
Now this Ac was working up till 2 days ago.We just drove over 400 miles in the hot summer temperatures of the north east.
Cooling fan operation is controlled by the fan timer module which monitors signals from coolant temperature sensor, and A/C compressor clutch operation. Timer operates cooling fan by controlling voltage applied to fan relay control coil. Battery voltage is applied directly from main fuse to relay switch circuit and timer bypass circuit. Voltage is applied to timer main circuits through ignition switch start and run contacts. Timer module controls voltage applied to relay control coil circuit, and control coil circuit is completed to ground through either thermo sensor or timing module. When current flows through relay coil circuit, relay contacts close and voltage is applied to cooling fan motor.
During normal operation, voltage is applied to relay coil by timer module and fan operation is thermo sensor controlled. When coolant temperature is approximately 190°F, current flows through relay coil circuit and voltage is applied to fan motor. When coolant temperature is below 190°F, thermo sensor contacts open and cooling fan does not operate. When A/C is turned on, timer energizes relay coil and cooling fan operates as long as clutch remains energized.
When engine is turned off, timer module remains energized and monitors signals from coolant temperature sensor. If underhood temperature exceeds 220°F, timer activates fan relay and cooling fan is energized. Cooling fan will operate for a maximum of 15 minutes after engine has stopped or until underhood temperature drops below 220°F.
See how that goes. Sorry, my bad. Ithought you meant blower motor.

I change my 1991 Honda accord EX blower motor and this is what you going to find, the new one came with no wheel so you have to swap the connector and the blower motor wheel. To remove the old wheel you need some friend to hold the wheel and you take a screwdriver and punch in the center while someone hold the blower motor wheel.this is not hard job take a little time but its easy.
