    Since acceleration due to gravity is 9.8 meters/second/second, it takes 9.8 newtons for 1KG (Newtons are measurement of force needed to accelerate mass). Basically, that means that the force (N) is equal to the mass (KG) times 9.8.

    Newtons=Kilograms * 9.8

    So, plug in the 400, and you can find your answer.
