Basement drain backup after Kitchen sink did
Help!! This evening, my kitchen sink backed up... which I used liquid plumber to unlcog it and it worked... then when I went into the basement, the drain in the wash room was backed up with stuff all over the place. I have a plumber on the way. My brother tells me that it is most likely the tree in my back yard and that the sewers may need to be replaced. Does this make sense? I'm freaking out right now... I can see something like that costing thousands of dollars...

    Rita. :(

    Hi Rita,

Before you push the panic button you have to find out exactly where the clog is. If you can flush your toilets and not have it come up in the basement drain then the sewer's Ok and the clog's internal in your house. Good luck, Tom

    Hi Tom,

Thank you for your help.. as it turned out, only the pipe from the kitchen sink to the main line was clogged... about $200 later, all is running clear.

I'm a new home owner and have heard all of the stories and I guess I over reacted. ;)

    Thanks Again,
    Rita.
