Unique 50th Birthday Party Ideas For My Dad
Hi! I am looking for unique ideas for a 50th birthday party for my dad. I would like to do something different, special for him. Does anyone have a unique idea? Thank you!

I don't think unique is as important as something that he will enjoy. So much will depend on his interests. Did he go to college or was he in the military? Perhaps you can find old friends and invite them.

I told my dad I was going to hold a plaid pants party for him (his 50th was over 20 years ago) because at 50 it was time he started wearing the high-belted polyester plaid pants (popular at the time.)

If he was born in 1957 perhaps you can have a classic car theme, i.e. 57 Chevy.

    Have fun!

Maybe build a theme around his life, use pictures or video clips to tell his story.
Or build a theme around something *he* loves. Is he passionate about football? Birds? His family? Music?

    Tell us more about him...

He loves the St. Louis Rams, nascar, fishing, mowing lawn, grandchildren... other than that, I'm not sure what else to base this party on. He has been sober now for 2 1/2 years, so it cannot get too wild. He's very laid back, and most of the time happy-go-lucky. Thank you all for your help!

Maybe plan a big brunch where alcohol won't be missed. If you invite everyone he loves then you don't need anything but a birthday theme. Nascar would be an easy theme to work with, too.
