    American sizes
If jeans form america have a 27 in them what size are they? I've tried googling it with no joy, even if someone could tell me what american size that relates to I could work out the UK size myself. Cheers for any help

    Male or female clothing?

I will give this a shot by answering both. If they are male Jeans, that will more than likely refer to the waist size of 27 inches or 68.58 CM. If they are female there can be two answers one would be a 27 inch waist just like above. The other would be a "Size 27" that is for the ladies of girth. That's roughly going to convert to a 4 or 5 XL or a UK Size 29. That is a rough conversion though.

Women's sizes don't generally come in odd numbers. I would take a guess it is for men (although you rarely see them in odd numbers, either)

    What brand is it?

I have seen odd numbers at Kohls, Penneys and 5.7.9... its becoming more popular...

The only time I have seen odds is in juniors clothing and it usually tops out at 15.

It's ladies jeans in a brand I don't know - they have a lobster as the logo.
It can't be a 27 waist or a size 27 as they were too tight for me and my friend at the waist and we are around a UK size 8.

They were just a really weird fit so I was curious what size they were.

On the odd number sizes they seem to be becoming more popular, I saw size 9 clothes in one shop recently. Really odd but I think it is a good thing so annoying when one size is too small and the next one up is too baggy, especially in ftaylor style clothes and dresses.

Ok, I know the answer to this. A UK size 27 would be a women's size 4. that's quite petite. Lucky brand jeans do their sizing this way, so that's how I know

If women jeans have the number 27 on the label or says size 27, it would be an American size 4.
