    Late Period -- Pregnant?
    Hi All =}

    My name is Stephanie and I am 20 years old, a newlywed at that =] I was married on August the 4th. This is my concern:

    My last period should have been July 26th, but it came August 2nd and only lasted until the 4th. It was very short and pretty light. I am asuming it was late because of stress of the wedding. Well it is now September the 3rd, and I am late. You could consider it either 8 days late or 1 day late.

    At the beginning of last week I noticed I was very tired. Going to bed around 12 midnight, and waking up at 11am still tired. My breasts aren't really all that sore, if I press on my nipple they are a little tender but nothing major. I have had cramping in my lower abdomen. I have had more headaches than usual. Craving hot dogs (this was before the fatigue). Feel very bloated and can't suck in my tummy as far as I used to. A few back aches, usually after working. A "tightness" in my lower waist/hips. Also, last week a co-worker of mine stated "your eyes look different, you are pregnant." Do your eyes change?

    All of these symptoms could be from PMS, but the fatigue is really throwing me off. I have never been this exhausted before. I feel like I have Mononucleosis all over again, but you can only get it once.

    I took 2 HPT's. One yesterday 9/2 and one today 9/3. Both negative.

    Any advice? Am I testing too soon?

    Thanks =]

    Stephanie

    A pregnancy test should show a positive after 6 weeks. If it showed negative twice, chances are, you're not pregnant. However the symptoms are pretty challenging- you might have a virus, or be developing ovarian cists.
    My advice, see a doctor!!

    Just because you got two negatives does not mean you aren't pregnant. Technically you are only one day late, which isn't considered late. I didn't get a positive on a hpt until I was 10 days late. I had several negatives before that. If you are pregnant the hormone hcg probably isn't enough to be detected by home tests. It could simply still be the stress from the wedding, too. All you can do right now is wait it out. Test again when you are 7 days late and see what happens. If you go 14 days late and still get a negative call your doc for a blood test. Sometimes we just miss a period for no reason, especially being so young. I had never missed a period before, and missed one while trying to conceive. I didn't get pregnant until 3 months later. Good luck whatever the outcome!
