I'm in the state of Florida and I can't find anything governing my situation. My rental of 2 years to the same tenant will go on the market next year. My tenant at first wanted a 3 year lease and 1st dibbs to buy. No price was discussed and I told him we would see how it went. I spoke to him about it recently and he did not give me a firm about buying. Now the second year of the lease is about to expire ( year to year lease in place) and I will be putting it on the market about midway through the next year. Is there a clause or something legal I need to do so the tenant knows I will be showing the house. I do want to keep my part of the bargain and let to him for 3 years but I will be showing the house through MLS. How should this be stipulated in the next year lease?
