Probation Transfer From Minnesota to New Jersey
I have asked my P.O. about this but she informed me it is a lengthly process and could take 3 months or longer. She also wants me to do Chemical Dependency Treatment and states she will not begin the transfer paperwork until I complete treatment. I just want to finish my treatment and at the same time have my transfer ready or close to it being done.

Can anyone tell me where to go for help besides a Lawyer that I cannot afford.

Any websites that have this information would be of great help if you could suggest one or more.

    PLEASE HELP??

    Hello tom:

    Dude, you FOUND the website.

At the top of this forum, I wrote a little piece on exactly this matter. It's called "how to transfer your probation".

Yes you can hire an attorney, have the PO investigate it, and schedule a hearing and in 2 or 3 months you will most likely get in front of the judge who will decide if the PO officer has to proceed.
With that, of course you will really make the PO mad, and guess what you will have to normally get his recommendation to get it oked, if he is telling the judge he does not think so, guess what judge may not sign off.

Also even after your state says it is OK, then the other state has to look into it ( and guess what normally call your PO and ask his opinion of it)

And most likely till you complete what your PO wants the other state won't consider it eitherr.
