    Well Water and Pumps
I have a deep drilled well, 2 lines from well to pump. Then there is a pressure tank. The pump is operating on a scale of 25 psi low and 45 psi high. Pressure in the house is OK at best but I want to install a lawn sprinkler system. My GPM is at 4.
Can the pumps psi be increased or is a new pump needed. I need at least 60 psi. I know I can add a switch to run pump continuously when sprinkler comes on to hold maximum psi, but I need more than 45 psi, and I need 10 GPM.
    Any ideas would be great.
    Thanks

You will have a switch, probably near the pressure tank, which turns the pump on and off, presently at 25# and 45#. This is where you will adjust the pressure upward. To quote Speedball, "I'm going to assume that you have a "square D pumptrol and that it has a 25 PSI cut in and a 45 PSI cut off setting. First turnoff the power at the breaker box, then pull the cover off the pressure switch and you will see two spring loaded bolts secured with nylon nuts. One tall, one short. To increase the cut in pressure, turn the nut on the tall bolt down. To increase the cut out pressure,(that's the one that will give you more pressure) turn the nut on the short bolt down. This should give you the additional pressure you desire. "

With just 4 gallons a minute, running a sprinkler irragation system might be a challenge. Not real sure about that, however.
