    Locate a bathtub leak
We have a continual wet spot in the front corner of the tub, and a leak in the living room ceiling periodically. How do we locate the leak?

There should be a access panel located directly behind the front of the tub. Open it up and let me know what's leaking. If there isn't a access panel cut one in or take out a square of the ceiling. Good luck, Tom

We have just noticed that when we shower there is water leaking in the basement. It seems to run along the ceiling board about the size of the bathtub, but only on one board. We don't have an access panel to the tub and I'm not sure what to do to stop the leak or even where its coming from. I don't think its overflow, help! Thank you so much,
    Rochelle

If it is just during the shower it could be the valve but most likely the drain. Do what Tom suggests. You are going to have to replace some ceiling anyway so don't be afraid to make a hole. You can test the drain by pouring a few buckets of water into the tub that were drawn from another spout or faucet.
