Kenmore Model 41741042000 (Front door) Washing Machine
I recently had a flood in my basement and my Kenmore Washing Machine Model # 41741042000 was damaged. The problem with my Kenmore is that when you turn the power on it does not response to any of the settings. In other words, it does not work when turned on. I believe the problem is a computer malfunction? If any one knows the part(s) needed and how to fixthis problem that would be very useful. Thanks.

Did you check your breakers? Do you have power to the outlet? I would first check all the eletrical wires and connections on the washing machine. . Did the water get so high that it got into the circuit board?

Yes, the circuit board was damaged located on the bottom front of the machine.

An addition, the machine takes water but doesn't take it. Does however drain it. So its not the water pump.

The circuit board is shot if if got water on it. Will your insurance cover this?

No the insurance does not cover the washer. It is almost 8 years old. I am just trying not to pay a lot to a repairman. I would rather buy a new one if it will cost a lot. Do You think it's the circuit board? How much does one of them cost? Is it easy to install? Thanks a lot for your help!

It is easy to change. Go to Appliance Parts from RepairClinic.com - HomePage or ApplianceJunk.com - Appliance Repair Forums - How to Videos for pricing. I'm guessing $150-$175 for the part. Yes, you must weigh the options of cost vs new unit. Good Luck
