Yes. All a passport really is for is to verify your identification and the country from which you are from. But, whether a person will be able to enter a certain country or not may depend on the nature of the crime that the person committed.

I have spent hours going from one search engine to another unsuccessfully looking for an answer. Thank you so much! Can you tell me where I can look on the internet to find travel restrictions... or regulations for convicted felons. My significant other, reformed felon, and I want to travel... and we have just become the proud owners and members of Vacation International VI and there are several resorts outside of the United States we would love to visit. We also would love to go on a cruise and I am not sure if a passport is required for traveling on a cruise line?? Thanks again for your help!
