    30 day notice
If a landlord gives me 2 30 day notices in a day which one counts? One of the ones the LL gave me had an incorrect date on it i.e. had 31st instead of 30th of the month. This is in NY state but outside of NYC.

Also is taping the notice on the door valid in NY state? I read about it saying it is but just want to make sure.

    Thanks

Why are you being given notice ?

Lease is ending and LL isn't going to renew the lease. Both agreed on good terms and just want to make sure which one is valid

If you're on good terms, just call the landlord and verify what day you'll be out. Is the notice for the end of Sept? If so, Sept only has 30 days... that's probably why they corrected it.

It sounds like you're anticipating problems? If things are amicable, keep them that way - it makes the whole thing a lot easier. Don't go looking for technicalities and raise issues where there aren't any.

You received the notice, so of course it's valid. Read your lease and state law (see link in the first post on this forum) if you question the method of delivery.

Does it really matter? All that matters is that the landlord is informing you the lease is not being renewed. The lease itself should have the correct expiration date. And that is what governs.

I really don't understand the nit-picking here. Especially if this is amicable.
