    Not on same page?
My boy friend and I had an argument about spending time with other people I am giong into the Travel business. I will be offered FAM packages to go on so I can tell people how the trip was. Well I asked my man how he felt about me taking a friend of ours (GIRL) on a cruise with me one time after of course him and I had already been. It would only be two days or so. He flipped out. Said it wasn't right to go with out him and he would never go any where like that with out me. I really don't see the problem with spending time apart. What do you think?

Two things come to mind: he's jealous or he's jealous.

I say that twice because either he's jealous your wanting to bring a friend instead of him, -or-, he's worried that you're going to make you self "available" while out having fun without him there and he's not conifdent enough about himself or your relationship.

Both scenarios's are kind of petty (but not unusual), but he's feeling insecure and his reaction is what you've witnessed.
Now, he should calm down and be understanding. Maybe on his own, or maybe after you two talk about it.

Put yourself in his shoes briefly and try to consider having the same conversation. You'll need to keep an open mind.

Good luck and enjoy your new career in travel.

I think that time apart from someone is a good thing. Your gone for a couple of days and he will miss you. Couples sometimes have to do things on their own. My ex was saying to me that I need to be more independent and do things on my own. I wouldn't worry about what your boyfriend says. I always heard absence makes the heart grown fonder.

I personaly don't think anything is wrong with your plan, but I'm not your b/f. Talk a little more to him about it, and reassure him its all business, as he may be insecure. If he is still not feeling your idea, it may be best to re-evaluate both your positions, and come to a reasonable compromise. If you really want time away without him, be honest and say so.

Well I agree with most of what has been said. It is likely he is jealous or insecure or both. I can understand abit. I would feel let down and hurt if my boyfriend was going and said he would rather take someone else. Have you made it clear you want to take him first etc? Talk things through and find out why he doesn't like the idea, it might be something simple that you can easily sort between you.

You should go have a good time with your girlfriend, you are a good girlfriend and you have your right to spend time with your gfs.:)
