Property / Deed with bad credit.
My parents have bought a home and property up the mountains . I have bad credit so was told I could not be put on the deed.My brother name and mothers name was put onto the deed because my mother told me he had great credit and when the home is paid off my name will be put onto the deed.As of now it is in my fathers will that I will be owner or co owner of home when parents pass away but my father is not on any deed or even a bill at the property. If any thing happens to my parents will I have any rights to this summer home?Is it true because of my bad credit my name can not be put on to the deed? Please help me. Thank You for your time. Nancy McCarry.

The reason your name couldn't be on the deed was because, if it was, you would also have to be on the mortgage. With your bad credit history, this may have caused the mortgage rate to go up. So it would make sense.

Why your father's name isn't on the deed, I don't know. I'm assuming your brother's is for the opposite reason yours isn't. His good credit allowed your parents to get a more favorable interest rate.

If your father isn't on the deed, then he can't will you the property. Only your mother can and then only her portion (not your brother's).
