    Trust and Betrayel
How do you come to terms to trust someone that seriously betrayed you and how do you defend yourself emotionally from getting hurt by the same person like that again ?

It depends on what that person has done,, is it forgivable?

The question is do you want to trust this person again?
If the betrayal was too huge then you may wish to keep the distance for sometime until he/she wins your trust back.

And the thing I have learnt is that we feel hurt when those we love most betrays us more than mere acquaintances. And it is harder still to take them out of our lives completely.

We cannot go around with armour on our feelings all the time,
But by being aware of the person's character so that if something does happen you will not be too shocked, even if you feel hurt by being betrayed again.

I agree with you firmbeliever. My concept from now on is as long as I respect and treat people right , I don't need to go as far as to trust them. I only trust God
