Where can I get a copy of my 2006 1040
If you used on-line tax software, they can probably give you a copy off their records, though there MAY be a printing fee.
If you had a tax professional prepare your return, by law, he/she was supposed to provide you a record copy for your records. If you have misplaced it, a call to that professional can get you another copy. Again, expect to pay a printing fee.
If neither issue applies, you can get a copy of your tax script for free by call the IRS and asking for it. It will take a few days to get it, and you may have to insert the figures onto a 2006 Form 1040 (PDF available on the IRS website, which is Internal Revenue Service, but that is not that hard.
If you want a photocopy of the IRS file copy of your return, you have to submit a request in writing (the IRS will tell you how). THAT copy will cost you a fee of about $25.
