Diaghram of Carb on Vanguard 21HP
Is there a "free" diagram online? I need to do a Carb Cleaning due to the "black-smoke" during heavy engine loading. I have read quite a bit here and I feel a good cleaning might solve my problem, but I do not have any "pictures" to guide me. I have torn down a few carbs, but this will be the first Vanguard I have done.
    Thanks in advance.

Hmm, I don't know of a free site. But the carbs. Are not that bad really, I suggest laying out something white, yes I said white, and disassemble the carb. Paying careful attention. Try and not have any distractions, nothing quite like being in a shop and dealing with 8 or 10 customers in between the beginning and reassembly of something new, but you can concentrate and do this. If there is a shop near you that you have a good report with they may print you a diagram off.

    Thank you Sir!
I did find the Illustrated Parts Breakdown online last night. I have since printed it out for reference. The Carb does look to be straight forward, but I am used to working on Radars and I guess I have become dependent on schematics for re-assembly.
Thanks for the reply and positive motivation... I really enjoyed reading this site.

I got the carb off this weekend. I plan on beginning the tear-down this week. I'm just going to tear it down and clean the jets, floats, and air passages to be sure their isn't any dirt. I don't think I need a Carb Repair Kit with less than 90 hours on this motor. I will let you know how it turns out, hope to have it completed by this weekend.

Good deal, be cautious of the gaskets. And also wear safety glasses while using the cleaners. And most carb. Cleaners will turn your skin as white as the background in this window. But after 500 to 600 it just seems like your skin is either burnt up, or used to the chemical, ha ha.
