Check pressure gauge on boiler-anything? Make sure water supply is turned on. Your pressure-reducing valve may be stuck or in need of adjustment, or the strainer may be clogged. If you have a combination Extrol valve and expansion tank, check the tank pressure with a tire gauge-it may need to be increased slightly to allow water to enter the system. Check these & post back.

Hi mate, the guy just told me to turn boiler off, empty rads, then turn water back on, then it should be OK , it isn't , pressure gauge on zero, it's a ravenheat combi boiler , I know how to turn the pressure up on the boiler , but not down, but as it stands now it won't do anything

Assuming this system is for circulation of hot water (not steam), it would appear that you have a problem with the fresh water supply to the system. Locate the pressure-reducing valve (typically bell-shaped, may have a fast-fill lever) on water supply line. Lift lever (if equipped) & listen for incoming water. Are you certain that the shut-off valve you used is actually opening when operated? Gate-style valves and globe-style valves can fail closed even if they appear to be open, or become clogged with mineral build-up. Try gently tapping on supply valve & reducing valve with a hammer & post back w/results.
