I'm replacing a White-Rogers Type: 1F82-51 T-stat to Hunter Type: 44155C T-Stat. I don't know which wire goes to. Please help. It's very hot in Texas.

Old White-Rogers Type: 1F82-51 wiring:

C----blue wire
L----black wire
E----brown wire
W2----white wire
Y----Yellow wire
O/B----orange wire
R----red wire
G----green wire


New Hunter Type: 44155C

Rc---?

Judging by the terminal designations of your old t-stat, you have a heat pump system. Is your auxiliary heat gas or electric? It looks as if the new t-stat may have some configuration options (either dip switches or a set-up menu) as there are fewer terminals. "C" (low-voltage common) and "L" (trouble indicator) are not used on new t-stat, "E" is likely 2nd stage auxiliary heat, "W2" is 1st stage auxiliary heat, "Y" is outdoor unit contactor, "O/B" is reversing valve, "R" is low-voltage hot, and "G" is indoor blower. Is the new t-stat capable for 2-stage heat/1 stage cooling? I need a bit more info on your system in order to assist you with this.

It's an electric... and the new t-stat is a single stage heat pump...

Unfortunately, the new t-stat you have selected is not compatible with the system you have. You will need one that is capable of controlling 2-stage heating & 1-stage cooling. If your old t-stat is still functional you can re-connect it for cooling until you have an appropriate replacement. You would only need to reconnect "Y", "O/B", "R", & "G" to accomplish this, but tape off unused wires in the interim to prevent contact with each other or other wires used. Post back w/ details once you have obtained correct t-stat.

I bought a different T-Stat and compatible with the system. I already installed it, but having problem. The AC/Heat they do not come on. I doubled check the wirings and are installed correctly. All the breakers are on. IThe LCD reads "No AC Power". What is that mean? Doesn't say in the manual.

I need to know the terminal designations of the new t-stat. I may also need you to take a look at the low-voltage wiring at the indoor unit to verify which wires are connected and to what terminals. If new t-stat has "Rc" & "Rh" terminals, they should both be connected to the red wire, and if there is a "C" terminal it should be connected to the blue wire. It is possible that you may have caused the low-voltage fuse on indoor unit (if equipped) to fail if wired improperly. Easy test: turn off power to indoor unit, connect red and green thermostat wires together, turn power back on. Does the blower come on? Check and reply. I'm off work this week with a back injury, so I'm much more available than usual right now. I'll be able to respond as soon as I hear back from you.

I got it working... I found some burnt wires in the box leading to the fuse. So I replaced the wire and now its working fine... thanks for the help..
