    Subway Injury
Hi, I used to work at Subway, the sandwich place. Back in March I cut my finger open with one of the knives. I had to go to the ER as soon as possible because I couldn't control the bleeding. My manager didn't take me. She just filled out a work injury form and told me what to do when I went to the hospital. Weeks later, I get a bill. So, I give to my manager so it could be paid. Now, it has been around 5 months and a collection agency is harassing me about paying a bill which I shouldn't be responsible. Every bill I have gotten I have given to my workplace and they say they will pay it. And, then, they never pay it. They paid for my medication but when the hospital bill came, they are doing nothing. What should I do? I'm so frustrated. It is my understanding that it is the law that they have some form or way of covering work related injuries. But, they are just leaving me in the dark when I have done everything I am supposed to do. I refuse to pay the bill for them. I don't have tons of money. However, they are a franchised corporation. I'm sure they could spare a few hundred.

They should by law have a workers comp poster on the wall.

You need to find out first if they filled out and filed a workers comp injurty, if they did not do it, you can contact the dept of workers comp with your state and do a report yourself.

Next get the phone number of their workers comp insurance company and contact them and find out why this is not being paid.

You can file a complaint with the workers comp board if they are not paying.

Also all the time you were at the hospital and any loss work because of this, needs to be paid.
