Is it possible to burn mp3's to a DVD so I can have tons more songs then a regular CD and play it in my cd player in my car?
Hello,
It is not possible to play DVDs in your car stereo, unless it is a specific DVD player with screens attatched. CDs and DVDs use different technologies.
What is the difference in a MP3 file on a CD or DVD?
There is no difference in the MP3 file. What the actual difference is - the technology that is used to read the information off the disc. CDs and DVDs use different lasers with different wavelengths to read the information. If I remember right, the information is also distributed differently on a DVD rather than a CD. This is how a DVD can hold much more info than a CD.
If your computer has a DVD-ROM drive, it will read the MP3 the same whether it is on a DVD or a CD, the problem is, the general car stereo cannot read DVDs since they use different laser technology.
Perhaps in the future, car stereos will be able to read DVDs also.
Good luck!
If you simply want to use them as storage for MP3s for use on your computer, they will work fine for that - just not in the normal consumer stereo.
Thanks fot the info!!
