Help, How do I fix our wobbly Fan?
We just put up a Hampton Bay fan and it's quite wobbly. It's flush mounted and there is decent sized space between the ceiling and the top of the mounting. Is there anyway to correct this problem? Do you think it's wobbling because of the space or because it's off balance and needs weight? Any thoughts would be great!
    Thanks!

I would think a good brand like that would have a way to balance the blades. I have taped pennies on blades in past to prevent the wobble. Also, in one of our rooms I have to redirect the a/c vent because when it turns on, it makes the fan wobble.

In the box that you unpacked your fan were weights and intructions on balancing the blades. If it is wobbling excessive, check and make sure you have all the blades tighten. Loose blades will cause a wobble

There is a kit available to use to balance the blades. I saw one at Lowe's and/or Home Depot and one came with a recent purchased fan.

Excessive wobble, look for non-removed packing material.

A blade(s) may have been hit or bumped out of place, 4 bladed fans easier to see bumped(opposing blade sill not be in line). 5 or 4 blades, you can measure tip to tip. They can also be knocked "Out of Plane", where one blade may be higher, stand back and watch tips of fan blades as motor slows, you may be able to see. You can get wobble out usually without weights.
