I am trying to remove the tub surround on my tub and I can't get the last piece of the old surround off because I don't know how to remove the water spout .( the surround is behind the water spout .) so how do I take the water spout off to be able to get the surround off and put the new one on?

There are two types of tub spouts. The threaded rear end ones,(see image) and the slip fit ones,(see image). Tf the spout's metal then it's threaded and will unscrew counterclockwise. If it's chrome finish over plastic then it's a slip on spout. For these look under the spout back against the wall and you will see a square hole. There's a Allen Set Screw up there that you will have to looosen and the spout will pull off. The slip on image hasn't the diverter knob but it's the same hookup. Good luck, Tom
