Hello,

I'm a Brazilian Citizen but I have a Permanent Resident Card in the US. Do I need a visa to go to France? I've tried to get in touch with the French Consulate in NYC but they won't talk to me without an appointment and when I've already sent them 2 e-mails from which I've got no response about my question. I'm staying in Paris for 2 months (October-November). Do I need a visa?

2. Can I use my PR Card to travel outside of Canada?
No. Your PR card is not like a passport. You must still use your old passport (and any visas that you must have) to enter any foreign country including the United States. The Permanent Residency Card is not a travel document, it is an identification document to state your status in Canada. You may use it to get back into the country along with your valid passport.

3. If I applied for a PR card, can I leave the country?
Yes. You can leave the country even if you do not have one but you must notify one of the Canadian Visa offices abroad to obtain a travel document to be able to come back into Canada.

The citizens of the countries marked with the sign * do not need a visa for a long stay in France.
