    installed new driver but is not recognize
    well first I'm new at this and I'm also a bad speller sorry lol...

    well I installed a CD-RW/DVD LTC-48161Hin my computer... is running a Windows ME... =(

    but the driver doesn't read or play or burn cds... I now it works because I used to have it in another computer and I'm pretty shure I connected it right.. . the driver is not recognize by the computer...

    please help

    You installed a CD-RW/DVD DRIVE, not a driver.

    You need to make sure that you set the jumper on the back of the drive to the correct setting. If there is another drive on the same cable, it should be set to either master or slave. The other drive should be set to the one you don't set this drive to.

    If it is the only drive on that cable, you shuold set it to Single mode, and if it doesn't have that, Master.

    You could also try setting the jumpers to Cable Select, but this doesn't work all the time.

    You also need to make sure the drive is enabled in BIOS. Boot your computer, and when it says Press [key] to enter setup, press that key. Look for Primary IDE Master, Primary IDE Slave, Secondary IDE master, Secondary IDE Slave, and set them all to Automatic.

    You also need to loose ME. That OS never worked.
