    Should Bank Tellers Be Armed?
The topic is more or less self explanatory. Simply put, should they allow bank tellers to be armed as a mode of defense? To what extent? Why or Why not? Do you think they will allow it later in the future?

No. But I'd go for armed guards though: both outside and inside the bank.

No and basically even if they were armed all they would be is dead if armed people came in ( with guns out already) and they tried to draw them against a armed suspect. Secure front doors ( double set) where you have to be buzzed in, Armed guards in bank, and protective glass between tellers and lobby areas.

What about arming them with something like mace?

Mace?? What are they going to stop wild dogs coming into a bank.
They will only get them killed.

    I agree with Rick.

No, the world doesn't need more people with guns despite what many in the US think. Trained armed guards inside and out like Rick suggests is sufficient. If they can't stop them then I don't think it should be left in the hands of a teller. Very dangerous.

I agree with everyone's responses. Knowing a teller may be armed is not going to intimidate or scare off someone intent on robbing a bank. Those people who stick up a bank do so out of a total desperation for money. It will just create a situation where there is a greater chance of innocent people being shot and/or killed. Rick is right. Properly/completely trained guards prepared for any situation is the answer.
