Disposal discharge tube doesn't reach PVC pipe
Hi, I'm in the process of installing a new disposal in my kitchen but ran into a bit of a snag when I went to connect the new disposal.
I've attached pictures of the old/new disposals along with the pipe configuration under my sink. As you can see from the pictures, the new disposal is smaller in diameter than the old disposal, but the discharge tube running from the disposal to the continuous waste pipe is about the same size.
This means that when I insert the discharge pipe into the continuous waste pipe that the new disposal doesn't align with the mounting bracket on the bottom of the sink.
I'm trying to figure out the best way to remedy this - I could reconfigure the PVC piping underneath the sink but I don't have any experience with that. Or perhaps I could find a discharge pipe that would actually fit okay. Or I could spend $80 more and get a disposal with a wider diameter and hope that it fits...
Any suggestions regarding the best way to fix this problem?
Thanks,
Doug
