    Law rlative to debt validation
We received copies of our credit reports. While reviewing I noticed that the same CA had listed the same debt 4 times (one right after the other) they had just changed their internal account #. I sent a letter to the CA requestion validation of the debt. In addition, I mentioned that I found it shocking that they listed the debt 4 times and that I did not believe that I owned this debt.
They responded by sending me a computer printout with their Trade Line, the name of the original creditor, the amount of the debt and only under one of the accounts #'s that was on the credit report.
To me this is not proper validation. Getting a letter/print out which states "Detach Upper Portion and Return with Payment" In large letters - VALIDATION NOTICE

They then stated that I need to send them proof that the account has been paid in full or a final statement, reflecting a zero balance.
If you do not have one available or are not able to obtain on, please contact this office to make monthly payments or settlement arrangements.

HELP! I thought that we were asking for validation??

If a collection agency can't validate a debt, which they would have to do in small claims court in front of a judge, and have all their proof that a debt exists, then they don't have a case against you. Ask again and see what you get, if it is nothing, then don't worry about it.
