Pouring new Concrete slab over OLD basement slab
I have a house placed on its exsisting foundation and basement concrete floor in 1934. The floor is solid, uncracked, and level but has several areas that are very uneven. To the point, the basement is unusable for living space. Is it possible, and reasonable, to pour a new slab over the exsisting slab? The new slab could be up to 2.5 inches thick and still allow adaquate head room, 7 ft. I know it would be best to remove the old slab and replace it but that may be prohibitively expensive. Any ideas, suggestions, or possible other solutions.
