Having a slight problem with my hair, had it dyed brown underneath and blond on top, and I didn't like it so I tried to dye it all brown.. but it turned out black! And now 1 month on.. its lightening, going slightly brown and my roots are light brown. Anyway does anyone know if I can dye it a light brown or darkish blond by myself or do you think ill have to go to a hair dresser??

Any help would be greatly appreciated! :D

You will be better off going to a professional to get it fixed. The harsh chemicals in the over the counter stuff can really mess up your hair. I dyed my hair all the time in high school. I started going to a professional about a year ago and now my hair is healthy, shiny and the color I want it to be.

If you hair went almost black, you are going to have to go to a professional. If you try to go lighter at home, its going to turn orange.
