If you got an email or whatever telling you that you have won money for something that you had never entered, then yes it's a scam.
Otherwise you'll have to explain your situation a little better.
If you have been to australia and bought a lottery ticket you may well have won. If you get an email to something you never entered, it is a scam. And most likely Ed McMann is not coming to your house today either.
There was a story very similar to this on one of the court TV programs. A woman received a letter saying she won $75,000.00 in a lottery. The letter came from Queensland, Au. But the phone number she had to call was in Canada. She was to send them $1900.00 to claim her winnings - processing fee. It was all a big scam. She lost her $1900.00 and the company had "moved" from Canada.
The old saying if it smells like a fish, it is a fish, applies here.
