    Christmas thank you's
Are you supposed to send thank you notes for Christmas gifts?

When I get gifts from friends or family that aren't my immediate family, then I send thank you cards.

I just tell my immediate family thank you either in person, or over the phone, it depends on if I'm with my family or my husband's family. :)

My kids and I have always sent written birthday and Christmas thank-yous to grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc. whether we live near them or not.

Yep, I think it's the nice thing to do, someone went to the trouble of picking up a gift for you, show your appreciation with a card, plus everyone loves getting a thank you card!

I was always taught that any gift from anybody, whether it be a holiday or not, gets a hand-written thank you.
