Power switch for Electro Circular Saw
I need a power switch for an old 12 amp circular saw. It's an Electro Engineering 7.5 inch Model 1222. I think the company is out of business. They were in Chicago at one time. The saw is at least 25 years old. Probably won't find an exact replacement but does anyone know a source of parts like this? The saw is in great shape. "They don't make them like this any more!" Hate to throw it out because of a switch. HELP!

I did some internet searches, and have 2 answers

    1. Go to a TRUE VALUE , ACE HDWE -- take your switch & see if they can replace it

    2. You can jot down your info and send to this company and see if they can help

Electro Engineering Products co. Inc. 1801 No. Central Park Ave. Chicago, Il 60647

If I helped you -- please let me know

Thanks biggsie. I removed the defective switch a few years ago and bypassed it as an emergency fix. Haven't used the saw much lately and don't remember what the heck I did with the switch (dumb)! In the workshop somewhere. Now I want to use the saw again and want to fix it. I tried Home Depot but they have switches for lamps and stuff---low amps. Appliance repair places don't deal with tools, it seems, and the tool places I tried deal with gas tools only! I'll try the hardware stores.

I looked up Electro Engineering on line and their website is apparently defunct. It looks like some other company took the name, also in Chicago. I tried to get a phone number and call them but have had no luck yet. --Marc
