I have a 1992 honda civic Lx. Won't turn over. Have had so many reason people keep giving me as to why it won't turn over, to the point where I have had the fuel filter, fuel regulater, distributer cap, rotor button, the whole distributer, and sprug plus REPLACED. People keep saying they are sure its this thing, we changed it, no luck. Had someone else tell me it won't the fuel pump because fuel was getting threw the lines, but others are telling me that it sounds like the fuel pump causeing the problem. Could it be the fuel pump, and still get fuel threw the lines. I really don't want to buy piece by piece when there is nothing wrong with the one I had. I NEED HELP

Are you saying it won't turn over (crank) or it won't start (fire up)?
You've replaced several ignition components, but are you getting spark (if the engine rotates)?
Are you able to smell fuel when you try starting the engine?

It will try to start but won't start up. Don't know if its getting spark, will have to check that. Yes you can smell the fuel when trying to start it.

Safety is paramount. Checking for spark when you smell fuel can be dangerous. That is if your getting spark.

It sounds like you've changed everything but the ignition control module. Make sure the battery is fully charged, so the engine will spin over properly, and if you don't have spark, replace the ICM with a new one.

We checked the spark today, and there is n o spark, which really sucks since we just changed the whole distributor last week. So I really hope that is not messed already, we will have to check the ICM next I guess.

Check your fuses or main relay

We check the main relay switch, it is fine. A friend of ours checked the Distributor and it was not giving any spark, so we turned the new one back in and had them order another one, we just got the newer one today, so we pray this will work and start it right up. IF not then I guess it off to checking the fusses

Update. We got the Distributor in yesterday, it took about 4 tries and we got the car to start, you would think that I would be happy about this, but after driving it around the block to see how it runs, we turned it off, then when we decided to take it to Advance to let the guy there look at it, it wouldn`t cut back on, we tried a couple more times then it started, so now I am concerned, because obviously the distributor is not the problem. The guy at advance was lost for words, go figure, then on the way home, going up the exit ramp, the car had a little trouble getting over 2rpm`s, never had that problem before, once we got it up to speed it seemed like the power was back in the car, but for some reason felt as if it was losing it going up the ramp. I hope this makes since to someone. Should we check the timing belt now?
