    Things mom told you
Here's something my Mom told me when I was little and I giggle now when I think about it.
When my Mom divorced my Father I asked her why, she said
    {BECAUSE HE DIDENT BRUSH HIS TEETH}
I always made sure my mom seen me brushing!

My Mom like all moms said to make sure you have on clean underwear. Now that I'm a Grandpa I have found myself use that same line to my kids and grandkids. They always looked at me just the way I looked at my Mom when she said it hehehe.

My mom taught me that to be respected I should speak clearly and in correct English. Got me pretty far, I was the only one out of 300 that got a 100% on my English and Grammar portion of my nursing entrance exam.

My mother told me to be self sufficient, and to not look to others to define me or support me. She also told me to stay strong and independent, to educate myself and to be a good person. She is all of those things.

My mom always told me I was a unique person and that I should never change for anyone, and to this day I have never changed!

Here's a funny one though. My husbands mother told him, when he was potty training, that there were alligators in the toilet to keep him from sitting down on the potty. So mean! Lol

My mum told me be careful of guys!

So I have achieved black belt in martial arts and never had a boyfriend! :D

Also, my mum told me to eat more seafood, that will help me getting "A"s at school.:D

Yes, I did do well at school.

My mum told me to be well rounded, not just in school, but also in many other fields, like arts, sports, social/networking skill. She said society is best served by electing people who are particular hard working, intelligent and think in long term.

    I love my mum.:)

My Mom's favorite phrase was, "you made your bed, now lie in it." Whenever my brothers and I had a problem, out would come her saying. Supposedly it was to teach us to solve our own problems, be more independent and self sufficient and to never come to her for advice.

My Mom also said you made your bed now lie in it.
Another favorite was, If I said I wanted something she always replied,
    {IT NEVER HURT ANY ONE TO WANT.}
And, { You can't always get what you want but you try sometimes you might just find , get what you need.} She got that from rolling stones.

    My mom always told me:

"Cook like you love, without reserve." We did a lot of cooking together when I was growing up.

    She also always told me-

If you eat the crust of your bread you will learn to whistle... I have been eating it for more than 2 decades and still I can't whistle. I think she was lying to me :)

Apparently you have some adventures ahead of you, skell!

My mom used to tell me, when my little brother messed with my stuff, "Just ignore him and he will go away." I did and he did.

Another one -- "Always save room for dessert."

My mom always told me to be independent, even in a reltionship try to mkae everything 50/50 because you never know what could happen and you always need to know how to take care of yourslef. Now having a little girl, I am glad I was brought up that way and not totally spoiled, with her advice I have the ability to take care of myself and my little girl with no problems =) I love my Mom!!

One of my mom's favorites is:

"Failure to prepare on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

It is one of my favorite sayings.

My dad says that, but not to me because he also said the 6 Ps
Proper Preparation Prevents P*** Poor Preformance

    It has served me well!

    My mum always said
"You'll feel different when you are older"
And I've thought about it and I think I do.

I wish my mom were around to tell me things...
I will be a better mother than her!
One of my things I tell my children is Never look down on someone unless you are helping them up! Of course you all know Allheart said it first but it is my fave.
I also say because "I said so!" a lot!
