    Leeking basement wall
House was build in 1909. First four courses are glazed tile blocks above that there are cinder blocks. The tile blocks are hollow and the morter joints are in poor shape. The edges are glazed so the sand morter did not hold. I've used hydraulic cement to repoint them. I repaired all open joints on the outside of the building below grade. Gound water still gets inside the wall and finds a weak point to come in the basement. Any ideas? Thanks.

We had a similar problem at the back of our house, back wall only, and we are below the water table here, so it was a problem. My husband was advised to dig out the foundation on that wall only and paint it (?) I don't know what kind of paint, however, he did this, filled it in and we never had the problem again. I am not an expert and just relating our similar experience hoping it may help in a small way.
