I have a 1996 Honda civic that runs great, but uses about a quart every 500 miles. Does anybody know if this will affect emissions when it is time to do them again? Has anybody had a problem like this?
Thank you.

I have a '90 Civic DX and its burning oil like crazy. I'm failing emissions every year, but giving some cash to the dood that checks the emission is fixing it.
Paying off the emissions guy? Good thing the ones I get to do it, lets me slide on the old car... but oil burning can be rings, breather, leaky valve stems, etc. in my case, valve stems... one thing that can help is to switch to a higher viscosity oil, or maybe a high mileage oil in a thicker visc.
