I am in marketing, but know little about internet marketing. Our firm has a list of 75,000,000 double opt-in names we would like to market our product to. Our tech people want to use an offshore server and send the ads through a US based mail server and then to the email address.
This company says that they "constantly rotate IP addresses and that we have no legal exposure, and are "totally within the law". Of course our creative is spam compliant in every way, but I wasn't aware of offshore servers. Without including your opinion about spam and spammers, etc. I want to know if this is a legitimate way to email? What might the pitfalls, legal ramifications be, if any? Can you help me?
Thanks
Vinny
