My son's are rebuilding an old Wizard riding mower that belonged to their grandfather. The thing was made around 1969. It runs. However, it needs repainting and needs a mower deck to put it back into original condition. I need help in locating parts information online. I've Googled it and can't find a lot of information.

Wizard was originally handled by western auto, hmm, anyone else remember western auto? I used to love going to those stores. Ohh, well, mtd has acquired wizard amonst many other brands. Perhaps mtd.com will be of some help to you.

I'm working on one myself. Check under the seat for the model number. Then go to this site and enter the model number and you can get probably find the manual.

They have some parts. Can't help you more than that yet... I'm still looking myself.

In the process of acquiringa Wizard riding mower and it needs parts for sure, but it does run. May I suggest that we form a Wizard Ole Timer's Lawn Association or something similar. Intent to acquire these Wizards == acquire parts from whatever source( somebody's ole barn/shed, etc) and help each other out when it comes to parts, info, suggestions, makedo parts, etc. As many restore ole tractors well why not us'uns.Iam "Oakie" = Fort Smith, Arkansas, no am not an Oakie from Muskogee. I bought my Wizard 20 HP 42" Cut From the Western Auto in High Springs Florida. I have had it for at least 14 years. I have mowed in the rain, Bush Hogged with it, helped cars get out of the soft sand with it and it still runs great. It has been used to cut 2.5 acres of grass (and sand) for the first 7 years then 1/2 acre for 7 years and the last two years it also cut some yards for cash. Today the Grille and hood came apart. Thats how I found this website. Looking for a new grille. Found prices from $132.00 to $208.00 but none on Ebay. I bought a palstic welder from Harbor Freight and just got finished with repairs to my old grille. I even reinforced the grille with metal screen where the "hood hinges" bolts to the grille. My whole point is these Wizard Mowers are darn tough and I will never understand why companies who built products that you can get your moneys worth out of never seem to last? Merry Christmas to all the mower restorers everywhere. :-)

I have a newer version with a 50'' cutting deck may be willing to sell. You probably can find the parts @ cambell's lawnmower equipment in morrow Ga 404/361-6080 have your model # handy they will need it. The one that I have runs great! I am replacing the v-belt needs a solenoid you can purchase that @ cambells also for around $20.00 will sell cheap buying another. e- mail me [email protected] also check sears also.

Our Wizard is still going strong! We just broke the front axle in the steering assembly - it would never had happened if we didn't "help it" along when it dropped off the ramps from the back of our truck. Needless to say, it will be up and running once we order the part.
