I have and american bull dog cross pitbull, and he won't eat since I got him, I got him at 5 weeks and since then its been trouble after trouble, he won't eat anything apart from tripe, he is very very skiny as well, when I try and give him dog food hell eat I when he is hungry this makes me feel angry,
The dog will eat human food all day long but his own food hell only eat it when he is hungry he has 2 or 1 meal a dya and pupy are suppose to have four what do I do?

He is 10 weeks

p.s everything I give him he will eat for a week then hell only eat it when he's hungry after that

Ecta, please follow labman's guidelines and advice. 5 weeks is a little young for a pup to leave his mother. A vet check may definitely be in order here to make sure he is healthy and he is up to date on his shots. Please don't get angry with your puppy. It isn't as if he is purposefully doing this. You are the one in control, not him. He also doesn't need to eat 4 times a day. At this age, 3 times will suffice. Stop feeding him people food. Make sure he is getting a lot of exercise and training time. That will work up an appetite and he will eat his kibble. But, consistency and patience on your part is the key to training your dog properly. If you find you are losing your temper with him too much, you may need to accept that you just aren't ready for a dog yet. Since he is a pitbull cross, it is your responsibility to ensure that he is given the proper training and guidance to make him a mentally stable dog that won't attack anything as he matures. It is a huge responsibility. You may not like what I am saying here, but from what you have written in your post, I have some very big concerns. So, please post back and let us know how your puppy is doing and if you need further directions on training.

Safe 2 the people that comented bk, I tuk him to the vets the women said that he is fine his weight is OK and that he shouldn't loose any more weight though his jabs are fine as well there up to date to, and he now eats dry food 3 times a day but I have 2 push him kind of, today so far he's eat 1 tripe and 1 dry food he should be able 2 have another dry food l8ter but deres no doubt hell eat the tripe lol,
I get angry because when I look at him I want him to be big like other dogs that I see but its like he doesn't eta as much so he won't get as big and they say you are what you eat man.

Dogs are genetically programed to reach a certain size. Encouraging a dog to over eat will only produce a fat dog, just like eating more will make a short fat kid if his parents were short.

Eating less of a complete and balanced diet will only slow growth.

If you were feeding a cheap chow that was short in protein, iron, and other things tripe is rich in, then adding tripe to it would improve the dogs diet. Modern dog chows already have tripe in them, listed on the label as byproducts. They also have other things carrying in other ingredients needed to make up the complete and balanced diet dogs need. Over the years, I have seen thousands of dogs in the dog guide program that were thriving on Pro Plan chicken and rice and nothing else. The healthiest thing for your dog is to feed it a dry commercial dog chow, and as little else as possible. Doing so is cheap, easy, and certain to be good for your dog.

OK OK thanks and I feed him 1 day 2 tripe and dry food and next day all 4 dry food he is actually etaing now I find when I take him out more he eats more and over the couple of days he actually putting on weight a little
