Need help please:

Started about year ago and I ignored it :(
The dryer for some reason stopped getting warm for certain Fabruic Temperatures: High Cotton stopped working, so I just used permanent press

The dryer still appears to run. However, the heat is just not happening now for any of the cycles and it doesn't matter whether I use Time Dry or Wrinkle Guard modes.

Clean the vent out from dryer to where it exits house. A clogged vent will cause this problem. You can verify by removing hose from dryer and doing a load. Does it preform correctly now?

Thanks for the quick response. I disconnected the ducting on the back. I broke out the vacuum and cleaned behind there good. LOL but the machine didn't appear to be blocked at all. I went out side too and double check the outside venting. It appeared clean too.

Started the Time Dry up this morning,

NO HEAT :(

Does the burner fire up? Have you checked the thermostats?

I have tried all possible combinations of the dials on for the dryer. (is that what you were referring too?)

Both knobs combinations result in no heat.

The ignitor lites the burner? If so we know the gas valve is good. You should see 2 vent screen inside the dryer that circulate the warm air. One is at the lint screen and the othe will be opsite of it. Check those please as they can clog as well.

If the drum doesn't even turn, it could be the door switch. That some of the cycles quit before others suggests to me that it is one or more of the heat sensors. They shut the dryer down or the gas off if it over heats or if it is warm enough that the clothes should be dry. They are sort of a round flat thing mounted on a diamond shape base and have 2 wires. You will have to open up the dryer to get at them. Unplug it first. Check each one for continuity with an ohmmeter. If you find one open when cool, likely it is bad. Take it to an appliance repair place and buy a new one.

To do simple checks like this you do need some tools. A test light, a meter, or a voltage detector might be the best place to start with. I came across the niftiest gadget for trouble shooting, a voltage detector. They work through the insulation of wires. There are several brands. I have a GB Instruments GVD-505A, less than $15 at Home Depot. Touch it to a hot wire, and the end glows red. Find the doodad that lights it on one side, and not the other, and you have the culprit. You do not have to open up housings and expose electrical contacts. You are looking at where your hand is, not where the meter is. Most people are capable of doing repairs and will get it going and not get hurt if they use a little sense. The voltage detector makes it even easier.

Lint problems probably cause many dryer problems,

And may cause drain problems in a washing machine drain!!

I have no idea even where the pilot light is ?

Any idea where it is located?

Oh yeah, by the way the drum still spins fine. Everything appears working except for the heat.

Might be best to call for service. Many problems are not diy and can cause more that just bitting the bullet for professional service
