I would venture a guess that you will be repeating 10th grade as you are 2.5 credits behind. I don't know how your school system works though. If you will be starting on Thursday, you already should have gotten a report telling you what grade you will be in.

No Child Left Behind does not mean that you will pass if you are failing, but rather that the schools increase the accountability of the standards as well as letting parents have more flexibility of choosing what school to put their students in.

In no way does it mean that it is okay to pass a failing student.

Have one of your parents contact the school board tomorrow to see what grade you will be in. If they place you in 11th grade, you may have some extra work to do to keep up. But if you need 11 credits to enter 11th grade, chances are you will repeat 10th.

Okay really you guys are scaring me now... the only reason I am 2.5 credits behind is because I transferred to Ecot which is a homeschooling program 2nd semester I had to start from the beginning of there school year both 1st and second semester.thats why I was so far behind and then it got to a point where I just couldn't catch up... so now what should I do??

I don't understand why the home schooling would not have counted ?
Unless they tested you on material?

But there is most likely some 10th grade classes and some 11grade classes you will be taking. Grade level is more a subjective term, since often 10th 11th or 12th grade students could be taking some of the same classes, What is looked at is total credits to graduate. But if your school system classes your grade level by credits only, yes most likely till after first semester you will be in 10th grade and in 11th for second semester.

It all depends on what credits you need, for example if you've finished 9th and 10th English. You might have to be a super senior, unless you go to night school or adult ed to graduate on time
