Teen scoliosis and the SpineCor brace
I figured out I had scoliosis about a year ago and I started with a 17 degree curvature and now it has increased to 20 degrees. I'm getting a brace, and most likely it will be the SpineCor brace. A few questions about it are. Is it uncomfortable? And is it detectable under clothing cause being in high school I don't want to go from popular to the "brace" girl. Also how long do you usually have to wear it until your curve improves? Thanks guys for helping!

I also have scoliosis of 23 degrees and its pretty high in my neck. Im 13, and in 7th grade and think that you 2 ask the most idiotic and stupid questions ever. You 2 honestly care about being POPULAR and stylish more than your health? You where the brace after your done growing and SpineCor is the most comfortable brace that you can find anywhere. Did you know that if both your curves get worse it can cause severe lung and heart problems? I bet you didn't. And also I'm pretty sure its going to show when you where tanktops because of the shoulder straps.

    Bye...

There have been cases where the SpineCor brace is effective at stabilizing and (I think) reducing the actual Scoliosis curves.

However, it's still making your body reliant on a brace, and not allowing your body to re-learn proper neurological control (fixing the symptoms and not the causes).

Much of the newest research is showing that Hard-bracing is completely useless. It will ultimately lead 1 out of 3 patients into surgery, and doesn't show any decrease in actual scoliosis cobb angles. Soft-bracing seems a bit better, but is still very limited in fixing the Scoliosis long-term.

You need to check out The Clear Scoliosis Institute. It is a non-profit foundation, aimed at the successful Non-bracing and Non-surgical correction of Scoliosis.

Non Surgical Scoliosis Treatment and Non Bracing Scoliosis Treatment

Here is a video testimony of a girl with 60+ degree cobb, which was reduced to 15 degrees, without surgery or bracing.
