I am leasing a 2 bedroom condo with another girl, on a month to month least agreement. There is no stipulation in the lease agreement stating that we have to give a 30 day notice on the 1st of a month. We gave our 30 day notice on the 9th of August, that we will be out by the 9th of September. The lanlord is demanding the we pay the full month's rent for September, she says that we must pay the full month because the lease agreement states that the full amount is owed on the 1st. She will give us our money back on the 9th after the final walk through, but I feel as though she is trying to trick me because isn't the purpose of a 30 day notice to not pay rent after 30 days?
