Does the outside unit run at all? Does the fan run outside?
Yes the fan runs and I put a new dual capacitor on it but the compressor will still hum for about 5 seconds and kick off there is a start assist capacitor I still haven't changed it has a common wire and a HEMM wire coming off it
The start assist relay and capacitor could be bad. Or the compressor could be locked up. Is the compressor hot to the touch?Quote:

A buddy of mine called me back, and was telling me that if I could jar the compressor it may unstick and when I did I powered the unit back up and it came on do you think think could just be a fluke occurrence or do you think I am looking a having to buy a compressor in the near future thank you for all your help
In all reality you probably are looking at replacing the compressor in the near future, try new start componets first. Good luck, Mike
