Hello. This is my first time on this site and I have a serious question. I am 23 years old and I have been pregnant three times. I had a successful first pregnancy but the last two have had tragic and questionable endings. My blood type is A- which was revealed to me during my first pregnancy. I am supposed to get a Rhogam shot every time I am pregnant, if not my body would fight off the fetus as an infection. My last miscarriage was in January of this year. I was almost three months pregnant and honestly didn't know!! The test sticks even come back negative whan I take pregnancy test. Is there anyone that can help me or give me a solution to this horrible problem!! :confused: :confused:

Hpt's require a certain amount of hcg (pregnancy hormone) to be built up in your system, in order for them to give you an accurate result. If you don't have enough hcg in your system, hpts won't pick it up and you will get a negative result, even if you are pregnant. Happens more often then you would think. Some women won't register positive on an hpt for several months, and some never do. Qualatative blood tests are more accurate then hpts, however they only give negative or positive result readings. So if your hcg levels still aren't high enough to register, a quantative blood test will be required, as this measures the exact amount of hcg in your system. I would suggest any time you think there is a possibility of pregnancy, that you go to your local hospital and ask for a qualatative blood test. Quantative blood tests have to be doctor ordered, however, in your situation, your doctor might be quick to order this test for you. Definitely discuss it with your doctor,
